How to play
Open Orbly, tap "Draw Today's Circle", and trace a circle on the
canvas in one continuous stroke. When you lift your finger, we
score your attempt from 0 to 100% against the best-fit circle.
You get one attempt per day. Tomorrow brings a new one.
If you want to practise without the pressure, use the Practice
tab — unlimited drawings, no score submitted.
Frequently asked
When does the daily challenge reset?
03:00 Eastern Time — the same moment for every player on
Earth, so the leaderboard is a fair head-to-head. The home
screen shows a live countdown to the next reset. If your
device clock is set to manual and drifts, Orbly will refuse
to record your score and ask you to set Date & Time to
automatic.
Why does Orbly require a connection for the daily?
To prevent players from rolling their clock forward and
playing tomorrow's challenge today, we verify the current
date with an Apple server before scoring. Practice mode
always works offline. If you're in a spot with no signal,
try Practice until you reconnect.
How is scoring calculated?
Your stroke is scored on six factors: trace fidelity (how
closely you matched the displayed guide), roundness,
closure, angular sweep, stroke smoothness, and direction
consistency. Trace fidelity does most of the heavy lifting
— the closer your stroke hugs the dashed guide, the closer
to 100%.
On twist days, an extra multiplier or transform applies
based on the active modifier. Speed Limit caps your peak
velocity, Tilt watches the bubble level, Goldilocks
reshapes the score around a target band, and so on. The
full breakdown is on the score reveal screen.
What are the daily twists?
The daily isn't just a circle — every day picks a
different twist that changes how scoring works. The
weekly cadence is loosely:
- Mon — Classic (calibration day, no twist)
- Tue — Sizing (Tiny, Giant, or Off-Center target)
- Wed — Direction (Clockwise or Counter-Clockwise required)
- Thu — Tempo (Speed Limit or Slow Hand)
- Fri — Goldilocks (aim for a band, too perfect is bad)
- Sat — Flagship (one of six perceptual twists: Jitters, Eclipse, Mirage, Echo, Tilt, Mirror)
- Sun — Boss (a harder twist)
You'll see today's twist on the home tab as a "TODAY ·
<TWIST>" badge. Tap it for an explanation before you
draw. The same circle and twist applies to every player
on Earth, every day.
I drew what looked like a perfect circle — why didn't I get 100?
Getting above 95 is genuinely hard and takes practice. Small
radial wobbles you can't see on screen are still measurable
to the scorer, and trace fidelity rewards staying on the
displayed guide. A score above 85 is a solid attempt, 93+
is masterful.
On twist days, the modifier may cap your score below 100
even on an otherwise-perfect stroke — Goldilocks pulls
perfect down to the target band by design.
How do I restore purchases on a new device?
Settings → Restore Purchases. As long as you're signed into
the same Apple ID that made the purchase, it'll re-apply
within a few seconds. The app also restores purchases
automatically in the background on each launch.
Will my streak and circles sync to my other devices?
Yes, automatically via iCloud, as long as you're signed in to
iCloud on both devices. You can verify at iOS Settings →
[your name] → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud → Orbly.
I bought Remove Ads but I'm still seeing ads.
Force-quit and reopen the app. If the Remove Ads IAP still
shows as unpurchased, tap Settings → Restore Purchases. If
it's genuinely not restoring, email
support@playorbly.com
with the email on your Apple ID and we'll investigate.
How do I turn off ads or change my tracking preference?
For ATT (identifier tracking): iOS Settings → Privacy &
Security → Tracking → Orbly. For in-app consent choices
(EU / UK): Orbly → Settings → Manage Privacy Choices. To
remove ads entirely, buy the Remove Ads IAP or the Premium
Bundle.
The Game Center sign-in keeps failing.
Open the Game Center app (iOS Settings → Game Center),
confirm you're signed in there, then relaunch Orbly. If the
issue persists, it's almost always an Apple-side outage —
check
Apple's System Status.
Can I delete my data?
Uninstalling Orbly removes all local data from the device.
iCloud-stored data lives in your Apple account — you can
manage it at
iCloud.com. For Game Center leaderboard
entries, contact Apple Support. For anything else, email
support@playorbly.com.
Still stuck?
Email support@playorbly.com.
Include your iOS version, device model, and a short description
of what you expected versus what happened. If you can screenshot
the issue, that always helps.
